Dr. Peggy Shannon (Producer of Parodos; Director of Crossing Borders) is a professor of theatre and Chair of the School of Performance at Ryerson University. She has directed plays and musicals at many professional theatres across the United States including Atlanta's Alliance Theatre, the Seattle Repertory Theatre, A Contemporary Theatre, San Jose Repertory Theatre, Los Angeles Theatre Center, L.A. Theatre Works, Mixed Blood Theatre, the New Jersey, Colorado, Utah, Idaho, California and Oregon Shakespearean Festivals, the Portland Repertory Theatre, Long Beach Civic Light Opera, the International City Theatre, and the Sacramento Theatre Company. Internationally, she has worked at the Old Vic National Youth Theatre in London, and at Hydrama Theatre & Arts Centre, Delphi, Elefsina, Syngrou Theatre in Poros, and the amphitheatre in Spetses, all in Greece.
Michael F Bergmann enjoys exploring projections with an optimistic eye towards technology. He is specifically interested in the intersection of live arts and technology, and in developing new approaches to storytelling through emerging technologies. Within the theatrical world, he has designed for such shows as He Left Quietly (Toronto SummerWorks, Best Production Award), and Accidental Death of an Anarchist (Berkeley Repertory Theatre / Yale Repertory Theatre). He served as assistant projection designer on Newsies: The First National Tour (Disney Theatrical, Designer: Daniel Brodie) and In a Year With 13 Moons (Yale Repertory Theatre, Designer: Peter Nigrini). His video art and installation work include On Guard and Water Closeted, both presented at the Yale University Art Gallery. Designing for dance is a specific passion of his, which has included work with Grisha Coleman (echo::system) and ongoing collaborations with Belinda McGuire Dance Projects. He also enjoys creating sound and projection experiences, such as providing the visual side of composer Matt Otto's AlgoRhythym, and his own thesis work, TECHknowSELF. He has specialised in working with media server systems for large scale corporate and industrial events through his work with WorldStage. During his time based out of their San Francisco Lab, he worked on events across the USA and Macau for clients such as Wynn, NBC Studios, Intel, and Nokia Bell Labs. He is based in his native Toronto and is a member of the faculty at the School of Performance at Ryerson University, where he teaches and is writing curriculum to integrate projection and digital tools into the program. He enjoys the technology and the art equally, and is pursuing research in the role of new technologies in live art. He is a member of the Associated Designers of Canada, holds a BFA from Ryerson University in Toronto and was an Eldon Elder fellow at the Yale School of Drama, where he received his MFA in Design.

Scott Phyper is a Ryerson School of Performance graduate who just finished his final year. Scott was born and raised in the east end of Toronto while keeping an eye on the amazing theatre this city has to offer. He is elated to be joining the Parodos Festival for the third season, this summer as the Producer of the Festival. Scott is an incredibly diverse worker, but with a thirst for Stage Management. If you don't see Scott in the theatre you can probably find him supporting his friends on their most recent works around the city. Scott Martin is a graduate of Ryerson’s Technical Production Program. Since then, Scott has worked as a Production Manager / Technical Director for various theatres including, Showplace Performance Centre Peterborough, Sudbury Theatre Centre, Drayton Entertainment, Peterborough Musicfest and The Georgian Theatre Festival. Adam Achacon is a Toronto-based Sound Designer, Theatre & Live Events Technician and Songwriter/Producer/Musician. He is a recent graduate of the Ryerson School of Performance class of 2019 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree majoring in Performance: Production. No stranger to the music and arts scene, Adam has composed for two shows in the New Voices Festival within the works of Bound to the Rocks (2016) & Blue Dreams on a Tuesday (2018). He also has and is producing and writing songs for himself and the local Toronto & Scarborough music scene currently releasing under the name Adam Acesz. Within the theatre and live events industry he has worked freelance in many places in and around the city including the likes of: The Betty Oliphant Theatre, Tarragon Theatre, Ryerson Theatre & Studio Theatre Crow's Theatre, Toronto Dance Theatre/Winchester Theatre, Fringe Festival, WayHome, Boots & Hearts, Canada 150 at Nathan Philips Square, Pia Bouman's School for Ballet and Creative Movement, Luminato Festival, Digital Dreams, Fall Fashion Week, Metro Toronto Convention Centre, amongst others. Adam's interests and hobbies include: music performing, composing and listening; arts & crafts; poetry & story writing; mindfulness; video games; and sports! He is one cool and fun guy who likes chillin' and lounging around; exploring life and the world, enjoying the moments he lives in and the adventures of everyday life and those to come. Kait Farrar is a production coordinator who specialises in festivals and site-specific works. Recently, Kait has worked on adelheid's LOT X at Harbourfront Centre with Heidi Strauss and with the City of Toronto's Special Events Team on Nuit Blanche. In the past, Kait has overseen many festivals and projects in Haliburton, Ontario including the Ontario Senior Winter Games, Dusk Dances and established the Radio Hall at Canoe FM.

Kaya graduated from Ryerson University with a BA in performance production. Most recently she completed her contract as an intern there. Some of her most recent works include ASM on Christopher House’s Marienbad and floor scenic artist for Charlotte: A tri coloured play. Prior to her contract with Ryerson, in between freelancing, she worked at the Gros Morne Theatre Festival, for a few summers as a technician assistant. She is very excited to have been able to work on these productions and hopes you enjoy the shows.

Paolo is a 2013 graduate of the Ryerson Performance Production Program, and returned to the school as an intern in the following year. Since then, he has worked as a freelance technician around the City of Toronto, doing work in both corporate and live theatre events. In 2016-2017, he was the Head Carpenter for Tarragon Theatre and worked on shows such as The Realistic Joneses, Sequence, and The Millenial Malcontent. Currently, Paolo is the Assistant Technical Director at Canada’s National Ballet School.

Patrick Middleton is currently completing his final year at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) in Perth, Australia. He is currently studying a Bachelor of Performing Arts majoring in Sound. He has composition credits on two WAAPA Acting Shows, Love & Information (2017); and Stuff Happens (2018); and is no stranger to the local DJ scene in Perth as well as composing and producing, with over 10 songs publicly released under the artist name MIIDDY. Patrick’s production credits include Sound Operator/Mic Technician for Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson (2017), Mic Technician on A Sunday in the Park with George (2018); Head of Mics on In The Heights (2018); and Sound Designer for Rise (2018 Dance Show). Having just completed his role as Sound Designer for WAAPA’s major production of Romeo and Juliet, Patrick is excited to be working with Ryerson in Canada on the Parodos Festival.

Kellan Starkie is currently completing his final year at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) in Perth, Australia. He is passionate about live mixing and has worked as a designer and FOH engineer on numerous live music and theatre events such as: WAAPA In The Park (FOH), Verge Dance Season (Sound Designer) and Rock of Ages: The Musical (Cast Mix). Kellan is super excited to be a part of the Parodos Festival 2019.
